I'm slightly confused by the information you have given above Matthew,
In my experience "First, Compiz resizes a window to less than its
minimum width if you semi-maximize it on the left, but not if you semi-
maximize it on the right." is invalid for me, it happens on both sides.
Secondly in my experience "USC hides its search field even when at its
proper minimum width. " is not true for me either. If neither of these
things happen in my case, are you sure that this is actually the same
bug? I'm only questioning this in hopes that it may provide you with
more information on the other issues as well.
