[Bug 992265] Re: Limited graphics after upgrade to 12.04

Hi,

I have logged with Gnome and Ubuntu 2D but still have a similar graphic problem.
In Ubuntu 2D, the Unity left menu appears with few icons.
In Ubuntu 3D, the problem child seems to be a list of 7 "broken dependencies" affecting Compiz when running Synaptic.

In addition, here is the warning and error when running:
fred@fred-desktop:~$ sudo apt-get -f install && sudo apt-get update
or
fred@fred-desktop:~$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

...
dpkg: warning: parsing file '/var/lib/dpkg/status' near line 24314 package 'handbrake-cli':
 error in Version string 'svn3406ppa1~lucid1': version number does not start with digit
dpkg: error: parsing file '/var/lib/dpkg/status' near line 40509 package 'urecorder':
 blank line in value of field 'Description'
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)

Best regards
