Similarly to @fagg, I have disabled vertical sync.  I have noticed idle
usage drop from ~52% to ~28%.  Which is an improvement.

glxinfo output:
OpenGL vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation
OpenGL renderer string: Quadro 1000M/PCIe/SSE2
OpenGL version string: 4.2.0 NVIDIA 295.40
