Message #36916
[Bug 873628] Re: Logitech Performance MX Darkfield mouse buttons support is incomplete
Expected buttons behavior:
Button 1 - left click
Button 2 - wheel click / middle button
Button 3 - right click
Button 4 - wheel forward
Button 5 - wheel back
Button 6 - wheel left click
Button 7 - wheel right click
Button 8 - browser history: forward
Button 9 - browser history: back
Button 10 - application switch / Exposé on Mac
Button 13 - zoom
** Description changed:
The fingertip "Zoom" (Button 13) and "Switch apps" (Button 10) buttons
are not mapped on this mouse.
The "Zoom" button should be mapped to Ctrl, thus enabling the zoom
feature in most apps when scrolling the wheel (or "Super" if one
prefers the Zoom feature provided by Compiz).
The "Switch apps" button should be mapped to the Scale feature in
Compiz.
As a workaround, such buttons can be mapped to the above or to other
functions using the compizconfig-settings-manager package.

+ I have documented the buttons and expected behavior here (also attached to this bug):
