[Bug 803943] Re: compiz consuming a lot of cpu
This is a problem for me too. After many attempts at doing other things
I was able to reduce (not eliminate) load averages from around 50% to
20% by removing VBlank in the CCSM and disabling Vertical refresh in AMD
cccle. After I did "unity --reset" I noticed I kept getting error
messages but they scrolled away quickly - however I could capture the
parts where the error was shown and its below:
(compiz:2409): GConf-CRITICAL **: gconf_client_add_dir: assertion `gconf_valid_key (dirname, NULL)' failed
Initializing unityshell options...done
compiz (core) - Warn: unhandled ConfigureNotify on 0xc00090!
compiz (core) - Warn: this should never happen. you should probably file a bug about this.
compiz (core) - Warn: unhandled ConfigureNotify on 0xc000a1!
compiz (core) - Warn: this should never happen. you should probably file a bug about this.
If you need more info let me know what I should do.
