+ ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION:
Compiz has been crashing on a regular basis for some time.
It seems to happen when starting a new application, most often (but not
always) when Adobe Reader is started.
(It is difficult to report this problem because of
What I do:
* I start a new application.
What happens (intermittently, about 2-5 times a day):
1. The screen freezes for several seconds while Compiz crashes.
2. Compiz restarts automatically.
3. Apport starts automatically (but does not let me report the problem because of bug #1036114 (and its duplicate bug #1047835)).
4. The application that I started does indeed start, but it shows on neither the Launcher nor the screen. I have to restart the application to display it. Some applications seem to understand what is happening and merely display themselves as they should, including on the Launcher, whereas other times I need to either kill the application from the command line or log out and in again.
