Similar issue here. No matter what keyboard combination I set in compiz
manager, it always fires when I move or resize a window by keyboard
(Alt+Spacebar+M+Return for example). I have to disable or enable the
magnifier totally when required and that's inconvenient. And whenever it
fires it is stateful, meaning if it is off, it will be turned on and the
next time it would turn off. It doesn't happen with window maximize or
unmaximize since I guess it doesn't involve a Return keypress.

Ubuntu 12.04 but with all (daily) updates.
