To be honest, I think the original problem that bug 729979 presented
would have been fixed at revision 3220 in lp:compiz , since I know the
code that generates mipmaps during animations was fixed for NVIDIA
drivers. The focus animations use mipmaps, and incorrect usage of
mipmaps generally leads to white textures.

Invisible windows are something else. Which I'm looking into now.
