I just don't know what happened, but the bug is gone from my computer.

I had stopped to use compiz (and unity) for a while, because of it. So,
it's almost by chance that I logged into a unity session today. And the
bug was gone !

I cannot tell which update did the trick, but one must have done it, I'd
say in the last fortnight.
