The PPA mentioned in comment #190 doesn't try to remove Unity anymore
and is functional for Raring. I installed the updated packages from this
PPA but unfortunately it didn't reslove the bug.

I've noticed that the blank windows are only a problem for windowed
programs. If I minimize maximized program and follow the procedure to
reproduce the bug I don't get blank white window. If I do the same for
windowed program it results in blank white window.
