I have the same problem on Ubuntu 14.10. I also had a lot of trouble
finding it and searched for "show desktop hot corner mouse pointer
ubuntu" to find this thread.

It happens to me every time I use a hotcorner for 'show desktop' with
the unity tweak tool. this never used to happen to me on 13.10 so it's
really annoying! I can restore the pointer to the right configuration by
hitting my other hotcorner with 'spread windows'. My configuration is as
Christoph's is as well so any further suggestions on how to fix this
would be great!
