The new release of the driver (340.32) was supposed to fix the issue.

However, after install that version on 14.04 (amd64) up-to-date, nvidia
module was not installed correctly and resulted in black screen after
reboot.

modprobe: FATAL: Module nvidia not found.

Emailed linux-bugs@xxxxxxxxxx sending the details, no response until
now.
