This bug also affects me. The fixes suggested by comment #8 here
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1072206/comments/8)
worked perfectly to solve the problem. If you don't have the Compiz
Settings Manager already installed, you can find it in the Ubuntu
