Hello. I had the same problem that was driving me crazy for days but
today I figure it out. At least one scenario:

If I open a Chrome window on, let's say on the second workspace, and go
to youtube and let the video play in background. (not minimised!!) if I
change the workspace it's freezing constantly.

I'm using Ubuntu 17.04.
