The workaround mentioned by Jignesh is not a bug, it's simply because it
opens the modules list with a different, unfiltered action.

This issue has been fixed temporarily as of revision 3885 revid:
odo@xxxxxxxxxxx-20111216154532-tb23vjkdyc4dk53i, by making this an
optional filter in the search view.

I'm calling this a temporary fix because a better way to hide technical
modules and a better-thought classification for Apps/Extra/Technical
modules should still be done before releasing 6.1.

Bug description:
  In the trunk, lately a lot of modules have been set to the category "Hidden" and now they don't appear in the module list anymore.
  As a consequence, you can't update the anymore unless you restart the server with -u.
