I think it is nice feature for EDI module.so we will consider this as
feature road-maps. and I am confirming this as wishlist.

  edi - email_document - missing relations

Status in OpenERP Addons (modules):

Bug description:
  BTW - it would be nice to announce this nice new feature - even in a
  test system  for each validated  invoice an emails is sent to the
  customer

  IMHO the edi_document must be linked to 
  * partner
  * invoice

  and must be accesssible to see which documents were sent
