today I was able to install  product_variant_ multi

IMHO it would be great to separate extra-trunk into ported and not
ported or have an indicaition (module attribute ) for which version a
module is usable.

  the menu entries for defining product templates and product variants
  are missing

  various views are defined for templates and variants but these are not
  called by any menu records
