The comment above suggest that arguments like --target and --efi-directory should not be passed when using grub-multi-install.
This is not the case for --no-nvram argument that is parameters set by the user (when user set grub.update_nvram to False in user-data according to https://curtin.readthedocs.io/en/latest/topics/config.html#grub)
I have confirmed a behavior difference (which is my case, doesn't crash my UEFI PXE install). Curtin configuration is properly generated but this required argument --no-nvram is never passed even if grub.update_nvram is set to False.
