[Bug 2111252] Re: E: Package 'libcanberra-gtk-module' has no installation candidate
Thank you for your bug report. Could you list some GUI program example
that triggers this warning? GTK2 is deprecated and the binary was
removed as documented on https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=967569
** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #967569

Title:
E: Package 'libcanberra-gtk-module' has no installation candidate
Status in libcanberra package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I get the following when I try to run some GUI programs on Ubuntu
25.04:
Gtk-Message: 12:32:46.627: Failed to load module "canberra-gtk-module"
So, I tried to install `libcanberra-gtk-module` (gtk-2.0) package.
However, I get:
Package libcanberra-gtk-module is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package 'libcanberra-gtk-module' has no installation candidate
Indeed, this package is not available in plunky.

module&searchon=names&suite=all§ion=all
Please note: libcanberra-gtk3-module package is already installed on
the system. But, this does not solve my initial problem.
