[Bug 2111533] [NEW] libfuse2 2.9.5 works on this machine, but v2.9.9.8 does not work on LXUbuntu
Public bug reported:
title typo: read libfuse2 2.95, should have been 2.9.9.5, as you will
already know.
I'm running fairly stock 22.04 on this machine. Here libfuse2 works as expected. On a machine running LXubuntu, libfuse2 will not automatically recognise/load an external USB hard disk which has fuse on it.
The only difference I can see is that it has a newer version of libfuse, as above. My daughter recently installed LXUbuntu on her new laptop, where the problem first arose. Reporting via ubuntu-bug from LXUbuntu is not supported.
ref. https://askubuntu.com/questions/1475995/is-libfuse2-safe-to-
install-on-ubuntu-22-04-2-lts/1476001#1476001
As a workaround I'd like to consider backing off libfuse2 in the interim
on the LXUbuntu machines? Another option is to save her USB HDD
contents (not much on it yet), and redo the fuse formatting on that HDD?
The LXUbuntu machines are both running 24.04, which in fuse terms may
already be problematic?
Any responses could please be copied to my daughter:
