  Video overlay over background

Bug description:
  THis occurs in Depin and VLC. When I play a video, the video screen displays, however the wallpaper and background windows show through the video. I did have Variety installed to provide backgrounds, and have since removed Variety. I have not rebooted since the uninstall.
  Video files are MP4. This occurs with multiple different files, occurs in windowed and full screen.
