[Bug 2107687] Re: Ubuntu 25.04 - Impossible to switch to a second language
Work around for this is to configure locals at CLI via:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales
In my case I had to uncheck the languages I didnt want, and check the
one I did.
IE: I unchecked english, and checked Spanish.
not sure how well it would work if you had to enable more than one
language

Title:
Ubuntu 25.04 - Impossible to switch to a second language
Status in language-selector package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Ubuntu Budgie 25.04 x86_64
language-selector-gnome 0.227
On 24.04 and even in the early days of 25.04 development, it was easy to switch to a second language from Settings > Language and Region and Logout > Login.
This is no longer possible on 25.04. As the same problem occurs on Ubuntu and Ubuntu Budgie, it must come from Ubuntu.
A workaround suggested in the Ubuntu Budgie release notes works, but if you reboot, Logout > Login is no longer sufficient:
localectl set-locale LANG=en_Fr.UTF-8, for example.
