[Bug 2111657] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_list_copy_deep()
I cannot reproduce, but this might be fixed by https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/merge_requests/1548
If so, this fix is included in 46.4 which is currently in testing for 24.04: bug 2108849
If you're able to reproduce the issue, please try installing nautilus 46.4 from -proposed:
* https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed
* $ apt install -t noble-proposed nautilus
and report back whether the bug is fixed there
** Bug watch added: gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues #3036

Title:
nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_list_copy_deep()
Status in Nautilus:
Unknown
Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Hey!
The reports were sent automatically but I would like to tell you how
to recreate:
Open Nautilus in 24.10, open a new tab or do something more and search
for something, eg. "abc", Then hold or use one more backspaces than
the search text eg. four times.
Then, Nautilus crashes or just "closes" most of the time with this in the syslog:
2025-05-25T13:24:10.793195+02:00 hostname kernel: traps: nautilus[203603] general protection fault ip:77a6ed3cdd59 sp:7ffc8738f478 error:0 in libgobject-2.0.so.0.8000.0[3cd59,77a6ed3a0000+37000]
Happy hunting!
