[Bug 2111657] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_list_copy_deep()
Hm -- it's possible! I saw one more crash immediately after installing,
but I can't be sure whether that was a leftover process. Several
subsequent tests I was unable to reproduce, when previously it was 100%
repro.
I will test again after rebooting to clear out all the cobwebs, but I
think a provisional "fixed" is probably reasonable at this point.
Thanks so much for the triage work! That is 1000% my least favourite
part of development and I'm so thankful whenever someone else is doing
it well.

Title:
nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_list_copy_deep()
Status in Nautilus:
Fix Released
Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Hey!
The reports were sent automatically but I would like to tell you how
to recreate:
Open Nautilus in 24.10, open a new tab or do something more and search
for something, eg. "abc", Then hold or use one more backspaces than
the search text eg. four times.
Then, Nautilus crashes or just "closes" most of the time with this in the syslog:
2025-05-25T13:24:10.793195+02:00 hostname kernel: traps: nautilus[203603] general protection fault ip:77a6ed3cdd59 sp:7ffc8738f478 error:0 in libgobject-2.0.so.0.8000.0[3cd59,77a6ed3a0000+37000]
Happy hunting!
