[Bug 2115482] [NEW] Feature Request – Support for Custom OVPN Parameters in GUI
Public bug reported:
I would like to propose a new feature for the Network settings VPN
section: the addition of a dedicated tab or section that allows users to
input custom OVPN parameters via a textarea field.
Rationale:
Currently, the GUI exposes only the most commonly used configuration
options. However, advanced users and system administrators often rely on
additional parameters that are not available through the graphical
interface.
Suggested Implementation:
-Add a new tab or section in the GUI, e.g., titled “Custom Parameters.”
-Include a textarea field where users can freely enter additional OVPN configuration lines.
-The contents of this field should be appended to the configuration file when it is saved or applied via the GUI.
Benefits:
-Greater flexibility in configuration.
-Better support for advanced use cases.
Thank you for considering this suggestion!
** Affects: network-manager-openvpn (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
** Tags: wishlist
