[Bug 2099746] Re: Headset is not detected by the system
Thanks for taking the time to report an issue.
It sounds like you have two different issues. At first you describe the
system hasn't recognised your headset at all and then you describe the
headset not being reported in the correct profile. Can you elaborate?
You've also filed this against Pulseaudio, but it looks like you're
actually using Pipewire. Please reference
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/pipewire/-/wikis/Troubleshooting#general
to provide more actionable information for the triaging process.
The profile issue at least sounds a bit like,

Title:
Headset is not detected by the system
Status in pipewire package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
When pluging a headset to the computer (Huawei Matebook D14) the
headphones are not recognized as an audio output, nor the microphone
headset as the input. Instead, the audio output and input are
considered the speaker and microphone of the computer, respectively.
Sometimes the audio might still come out of the speaker, and sometimes
just silence.
At "Settings", in the section of "Sound", when the headset is plugged,
the audio output device changes from "Speakers-Comet Lake PCH-LP cAVS"
to "Headphones-Comet Lake PCH-LP cAVS". Likewise, the input device
goes from "Digital Microphone-Comet Lake PCH-LP cAVS" to "Headset
Microphone-Comet Lake PCH-LP cAVS".
Maybe it has something to do with the Sound Card driver?
