[Bug 2116236] Re: Security update broke gitk
Adding error messages, so that this bug is hopefully indexable:
gitk: Error executing git log: wrong # args: should be
"safe_open_command_redirect cmd redir"
git gui: prepare-commit-msg hook failed: git: 'hook' is not a git
command. See 'git --help'.

Title:
Security update broke gitk
Status in git package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Using Jammy, after this morning's security update of git and related
packages to 1:2.34.1-1ubuntu1.13, every attempt to run gitk raises an
error about wrong arguments in executing `git log` (image attached).
The commits are, then, not read and nothing is displayed.
This makes gitk completely unusable.
