[Bug 2116083] Re: Audio volume is reset to 100% every time external monitor is plugged in

 

I can't reproduce this on my ROG Zephyrus G14 GA402 running 25.04
(6.14.0-24-generic) connected via HDMI to an LG monitor. Sound levels do
not move, whether playing media or not.

Please try reproducing with debug logging enabled in the journal for
these services to see if there's any clues,

# Enable debug logging,
$ wpctl set-log-level D
$ wpctl set-log-level 0 4

Reproduce issue...

# Disable debug logging,
$ wpctl set-log-level -
$ wpctl set-log-level 0 -

Then try reattaching the journal again with with the command in #2.

Bug description:
  Steps to reproduce:
  1. Connect an external monitor. I've tried on 3 different monitors, both HDMI and USB-C, all trigger the same bug.

  Expected behaviour:
  1. Audio volume remains at same level as before

  Actual behaviour:
  1. Audio volume is set to 100%

  
  This problem started after upgrading to Ubuntu 25.04, on Ubuntu 24.04 there was no such issue.
