Message #04301
[Bug 2117448] [NEW] WiFi fails to connect after disabling IPv6 in sysctl.conf on Ubuntu 24.04
Public bug reported:
After disabling IPv6 via sysctl.conf (by setting
net.ipv6.conf.all.disable_ipv6 = 1 and
net.ipv6.conf.default.disable_ipv6 = 1) on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, WiFi
connectivity becomes unstable. NetworkManager repeatedly fails to assign
IPv6 addresses and throws multiple “Permission denied” errors related to
do-add-ip6-address. Even after removing those lines and rebooting, the
issue persists intermittently — WiFi shows a question mark icon, and the
connection randomly drops until I manually open the network menu.
This issue occurs on a laptop with an ath10k wireless driver.
