[Bug 940431] Re: Provide 11.10 backport to fix SSL connection lost with git

This is still an issue, see known curl bugs: https://github.com/abraunegg/onedrive/blob/master/docs/usage.md#compatibility-with-curl
So a manual build from sources is needed, which causes other risks: https://github.com/abraunegg/onedrive/discussions/2997

Please provide backports like Debian and Linux Mint does.

Title:
Provide 11.10 backport to fix SSL connection lost with git

Status in curl package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
After upgrading to 11.10, I was no longer able to `git pull` or `push`
  with github.com over SSL.

  The workaround discussed at
  http://stackoverflow.com/questions/8403792/git-behind-proxy-remote-
  head-refers-to-nonexistent-ref-unable-to-checkout worked for me
(download and install 12.04 debs), and should ideally be backported to
  11.04.
