@uralt sorry for late reply, just did not receive your message, just the
status change...

i'm not sure what you want from me. when i run my regular weekly apt
full-upgrade i've noticed that when the list of services that need
restart is longer than say two lines in a terminal the subsequent wait
starts to be noticeable. i would almost guess that maybe the
implementation has an O(N^2) dependency...? sometimes when the list is
like 5 lines long then we are talking minutes, which for a simple update
is very unusual...

  lately needrestart drastically slowed down any apt upgrades or
  installs. this was not the case before. checking the package, it
  greatly surprised me that this presumably mission-critical piece of
  code is written in perl and not in c/c++.
