Re: [Bug 2122008] Re: While dragging files or folders, scrolling doesn’t work in Ubuntu 25.04 (Nautilus 48.0). This prevents moving items into deeper directories without dropping and restarting the drag.
Thanks for checking. I recall scrolling-while-dragging working in Ubuntu
24.04 (not sure about Ubuntu 24.10), but it no longer works in 25.04 with
Nautilus 48.0.
Interestingly, I tried the same action in my web browser and got the same
results: scrolling does not occur while dragging. This makes me think it
may be a broader GNOME/GTK behavior rather than something specific to
Nautilus. Please let me know if this should be reported upstream instead.

Title:
While dragging files or folders, scrolling doesn’t work in Ubuntu
25.04 (Nautilus 48.0). This prevents moving items into deeper
directories without dropping and restarting the drag.
Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
On Ubuntu 25.04 x86_64, while dragging files or folders in Nautilus, scrolling does not work.
This makes it difficult to move items into deeper directories unless they are visible in the current window.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Nautilus
2. Select a file or folder
3. Begin dragging it
4. Try scrolling with the mouse wheel
Expected result: The view should scroll while dragging, allowing dropping into folders out of view.
Actual result: The view does not scroll, forcing the user to drop, scroll manually, and drag again.
