Title:
Text editor fails to identify apostrophe in the contraction
Status in GNOME Text Editor:
Unknown
Status in gnome-text-editor package in Ubuntu:
Triaged
Bug description:
The Gnome Text Editor cannot discern an apostrophe in the contraction.
Example:
"You love to look at rounded corners, yet corners aren't the only part
that's rounded. Rounded off like the empty twitter posts you write,
about how pissed it makes you feel. Yet you wouldn't dare use ink when
you are paying for internet."
the text editor will by default, highlight `aren't` and `wouldn't`, even though they are correctly spelt.
If these punctuation marks are not included, it will attempt to recommend a change:
As an Example:
"You wouldnt do that, would you?"
It would suggest to change `wouldnt` to `wouldn't`, which is
reasonable:
"You wouldn't do that, would you?"
But then, as mentioned before, keep the underline and recommend to
change `wouldn't` to a completely different word. Instead, I would
expect the underline to disappear, instead of it continuing to
recommend other unrelated words.
