[Bug 429111] Re: [upstream] Modifying (or saving files containing) certain graphs crashes OpenOffice.org 3.1 Spreadsheet

Greg K Nicholson, your crash report is missing. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit.
If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[upstream] Modifying (or saving files containing) certain graphs

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: openoffice.org

I have a spreadsheet that contains a graph; unfortunately, the file
contains personal data and because of this bug I can't modify it to
make the data more generic, so I can't provide an example file.

Each time I try to save this spreadsheet, OOo crashes. Entering the
graph's editing mode (i.e. double-clicking the graph) works, but OOo
crashes: when I exit the graph's editing mode (when clicking away from
the graph); and when opening the Data Ranges dialogue.

One of the data-points included in the graph is the current time,
using the NOW() function. Editing the other data plotted on the graph
doesn't cause a crash, and the graph updates correctly.

At first I thought the problem related to the spreadsheet having been
created by a previous version of OpenOffice.org. However, I have
another spreadsheet created at the same time, which doesn't crash
under the circumstances described above; this other spreadsheet's
graph doesn't include the current time.
