Title:
gdm hangs on startup in maverick
Status in “gdm” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Binary package hint: gdm
I've tested xdm (about to try lxdm), and have been able to log in.
startx works fine. The problem is somewhere in gdm. noapci/noacpi
SEEMED to work, until a reboot. This second time it was back to the
same old nonsense. Can't log in, keyboard and mouse don't respond,
can't crtl+alt+f1, can't sysrq... NOTHING.
I can't find anything useful to solve the problem it's very
frustrating.
running on maverick (10.10) 32bit.
I think the old ati graphics have something to do with it, but it's unlikely, since it was working before on a previous installation.
