Title:
AIM contacts added show as offline & Unable to send message: In local
permit/deny
Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Binary package hint: empathy
AIM contacts added via Empathy don't work. The contact gets added,
but they show up as off line. And if I try to send them a message
anyway, the following comes up in the chat window:
(in gray): Error sending message '': unknown
(in chat bubble from user I'm trying to contact): Unable to send message: In local permit/deny
This has happened with both contacts I tried to add. One of them is
my spouse. They are logged in to AIM, their account is set to allow
messages from anyone.
