Title:
At the login screen, you can not click without having moved the cursor
Status in “gdm” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Ubuntu 10.10 (but I recall that this bug existed in 10.04 and possibly
earlier).
Once you reach the login page, and if you have a single user, the
cursor is located centrally, above the area you need to click in order
to open the password entry box.
If you do not move the mouse at all, but just click, the password
entry box does not appear. The password entry box only appears if you
first move the mouse (even a single pixel is sufficient), and then
click on the box.
Admittedly this is only a minor annoyance, but why should the user be
forced to move the mouse (even if it is only a single pixel), in order
to interact with a button that the cursor is already over?
((Is this in any way related to Bug #14669?))
