[Bug 429225] Re: On startup, gnome reports that hard disk drives are failing

 

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many
changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem
may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if
you could test it on the most recent Ubuntu release, 11.04 "Natty
Narwhal". When you test it and if it is still an issue, please change
the bug status back to New.

Status in “gnome-disk-utility” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  The disks are not failing... I'm able to access all data and
  everything is working properly. The error has been raised for no
  reason. There is no negative effect on anything, but I can't get the
  icon to go away. Ubuntu 9.10 Alpha 5
