Title:
nm-applet dies the first time you click on it

Status in “network-manager-applet” package in Ubuntu:
  Opinion

Bug description:
Doing Alpha 3 testing and after applying the latest updates, I noticed
that nm-applet dies the first time you click on it (ps says it's still
  alive, but it's not usable).

During testing, I wanted to configure wireless, so I clicked on the
network indicator and it disappeared. I rebooted, and the same
happend. ON the third attempt, I clicked the network indicator to
configure wireless and the panel shows it as being highlighted (drew a
square around hte icon) but that's all that happened. No menu, no
further clicking on the icon works, nada.

Because if this, I am unable to actually configure wireless and use
  the device.
