[Bug 788300] Re: Brasero create non-readable data disc

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 780117 ***
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/780117

I've been bitten by this problem too: I burned a data DVD with Brasero,
only to find (a few weeks later) that I cannot read it.

Brasero's behaviour (exiting successfully while the DVD is utterly
useless) is quite... unfortunate. I can't start to check up after all
programs when they told me everything is fine whether that *really* is
the case (!!).

As you can tell, I'm rather angry since it seems I'll be losing data
that's important to me due to this bug.

I don't know much about the business of writing DVDs/CDs, so I would
really appreciate any and all pointers on how I might go about salvaging
some of the discs contents. Thanks!

Title:
  Brasero create non-readable data disc

Status in “brasero” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: brasero

I launch Brasero in order to create a data disc with a DVD+RW on my Dell 1525 N laptop (which is fully linux compatible).
The burn process work correctly and Brasero advise me at the end that everything is OK, and the disc is ejected.
Then if I try to insert it again in my driver, the DVD reader turn for some time but no windows open in order to allow me to select any action( eg: open in Nautilus). Also the DVD is not mounted and I do not see its on the desktop or in Nautilus.

I got the following message when running dmesg | tail
  [ 150.052063] iwl3945 0000:0b:00.0: Failed to get channel info for channel 120 [0]
  [ 150.724078] iwl3945 0000:0b:00.0: Failed to get channel info for channel 132 [0]

I made 3 tests with 3 differents empty DVDs and the result is always
the same. I have recorded a log of the third test which I attach to
  the bug.
