[Bug 800249] Re: network manager doesn't see Huawei e1550 USB GSM modem
My up-to-date natty install now detects the USB dongle, asks for a PIN
and successfully connects to the network. As far as I can tell the bug
has been fixed. The network-manager version itself seems to be the same
so something else must have fixed this.

Title:
network manager doesn't see Huawei e1550 USB GSM modem
Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Binary package hint: network-manager
I'm trying to use a huawei e1550 modem in Ubuntu natty. Unlike
previous versions of Ubuntu the mode switching between mass storage
and serial is done automatically in udev and 4 tty devices are created
(/dev/ttyUSB0..3). The problem is that network manager has absolutely
no reaction to the plugging in of the card. The interface does not
change and nothing shows up in the log.
