[Bug 452681] Re: Cannot access reboot menu from keyboard

It was hard to make an ocelot installation without mangling my current configuration.
The gdm log-in screen is not available in an Live-USB or Live-CD environment.

I can confirm, that there is no (easy) way to access the shut-down/restart menu with the ocelot's gdm theme.
There is an awful work-around by using CTRL-ALT-TAB to switch to the panel, and possibly navigate using tab and navigation keys in order to focus the power button.

Title:
Cannot access reboot menu from keyboard

Status in “gdm” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: gdm

In previous releases, the shutdown menu was accessible using alt-t,
then the underlined letter on the menu. In the latest Karmic, the
login screen provides no apparent way to shutdown, reboot, suspend, or
  hibernate using only the keyboard.
