Title:
Keyboard not enabled immediately after login.
Status in “gdm” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Ubuntu 11.10 login screen has options (1) Recovery Console, (2)
Ubuntu, (3) Ubuntu 2D, and (4) User Defined Session. Using "Unbuntu
2D", the system complains that the login keyring was not unlocked when
I logged into the computer, prompts for a password, accepts the
password -- and all is OK after that. If "Ubuntu" is used instead (is
this Unity as opposed to Unity 2D?) the same problem with the login
keyring is encountered. However, the keyboard is disabled, so it is
impossible to type in the password that is required. Mouse events are
still accepted. The Unity borders are not loaded -- so it is
impossible to do much of anything. Even logout. The work around is
to power down (hardware switch) and login using the "Ubuntu 2D"
option.
