I tried to reproduce this in Oneiric Alpha 3 which I downloaded an ISO
for.  I tried the live CD method, but Evolution has been replaced by
Thunderbird.  I installed Ubuntu in VirtualBox and tried to use the
software centre to install Evolution, however, the software center
application crashed.  I tried several times with the same result.

I worked around this problem in 10.04.3 by not using the Equinox theme
and there are more important bugs open for Evolution that this one.
Perhaps you can close this one as it's no longer causing me a problem.
