Title:
Totem does not resume playback of a stream using media keys
Status in “totem” package in Ubuntu:
Expired
Bug description:
Binary package hint: totem
I was running tests of my laptop as per Laptop Testing project
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/Laptop/Reports/SamsungR780), and for
test khk-001 (using media keys on USB keyboard for Totem) I opened
random BBC radio playlist that is there by default. Once playback
started with double-click on stream name, I was able to pause it using
media keys on my Logitech G15 media keyboard. However, as I tried to
resume the playback and pressed “Play” button, Totem would not resume
playback. Totem GUI reacts to the button presses, but stream itself
stops responding to any interaction and has to be restarted to enable
playback again.
I was trying to replicate it today, but it was working on one BBC
stream. However, as soon as I switched to another stream, whole player
stopped responding. GUI was showing it was buffering, but then react
to nothing, although the stream continued playing. I had to force-quit
it. I tried several more times, and Totem stopped responding on one of
the streams when I pressed spacebar on USB keyboard. Then I was able
to play a range of streams without a hitch, yet it stopped responding
again (on double-click to start the stream).
Without G15 attached I played number of streams and didn’t seem to
have any problems.
