[Bug 450359] Re: cannot use AltGr in gnome applications

Bug description:
after upgrading from jaunty to karmic, the AltGr-key stopped working
in graphical gnome applications including
- evolution
- gnome-text-editor
- firefox
but not
- gnome-terminal
- any non-gnome application e.g. KDE applications
