  video can't play but sound can be heard

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: totem

  i have downloaded video in the format mp4 after that i double click on
  it in order to play that,but the video can't appeared but sound is
  heard by me.then i check most of the video i have same problem for all
  the format i also tried in vlc also but the same problem with that
  also.help me please urgent.thank you
