[Bug 831884] Re: lightdm fails to start on Live CD on intel: [drm] failed to set drm interface version (plymouth race ?)

 

I'm reopening and removing the duplicate. I still experience the problem
on an eeepc 1015PE.

** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 830061
   ubiquity-dm crashed with AttributeError in run(): 'Pixbuf' object has no attribute 'render_pixmap_and_mask'

Bug description:
  Oneiric Desktop 20110822

  TEST CASE:
  1. Create a USB stick from latest ISO
  2. Boot it

  Result:
  X fails to come up.
  The following error message is displayed in the logs:
  [    25.249] (EE) intel(0): [drm] failed to set drm interface version.
  [    25.249] (EE) intel(0): Failed to become DRM master.
  [    25.250] (EE) intel(0): failed to get resources: Bad file descriptor
  [    25.250] (EE) Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.

  Reproduced on Arrandale and Pineview

  Press Left-Shift on boot and select 'Try Ubuntu' from the menu
