This bug was fixed in the package nautilus - 1:3.1.4-0ubuntu5

Bug description:
  Before upgrading to Oneiric I used to be able to delete files simply
  by pressing delete. It looks like I now have to press ctrl + del to
  perform the same action. Was this a design decision made on purpose or
  have we inherited it from somewhere?
