[Bug 755667] Re: high cpu usage when a properties window is open
One of the reason why Seahorse could be hammering your CPU is because
hardware random number generator tools are not running. The other day I
noticed increase in CPU utilization and then noticed that rng-tools are
not running (the normal rng traffic would not show up in tcpdump). I
suggest that you check your tpm or prng to make sure it is doing what it
should. Anyhow, as soon as I started rng-tools, cpu utilization
normalized. An interesting question is why rng suddenly stopped...

Title:
high cpu usage when a properties window is open
Status in “seahorse” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Binary package hint: seahorse
This bug affects both 2.30 and 2.32 (Lucid and Maverick).
When you open Seahorse find some password and open its properties
window, CPU usage skyrockets. It's not exactly a major problem, but it
also doesn't seem necessary.
